A few weeks ago, the Big Thicket Association put out "The Neches River Series", a YouTube playlist of 8 videos that highlight different aspects of a major river that runs through southeast Texas and the Big Thicket. This educational series, made in collaboration with Lower Neches Valley Authority, teaches scientific concepts in a way that is easy to understand. The videography, voiceover, and soundtrack are professional and high quality. The "Neches River Adventure Tour" is particularly relaxing, with footage of a gentle boat ride down the river and soft guitar music playing in the background.
These videos were funded by the Mamie McFaddin Ward Heritage Foundation, known for the McFaddin-Ward Historic House Museum, and BASF TOTAL Petrochemicals, LLC, known for incurring a $30,000 fine from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for releasing toxic chemicals and not reporting it back in December 2018.
